Location and description of the accommodation
Our initial accommodation is a property in Northampton which provide a safe and secure space for three young people. We provide a standard of living that highlights how much value we place on each young person’s distinctive qualities.
The accommodation is located not far from a college to support academic skills. There are good local facilities including a shopping centre and a local leisure centre. The accommodation is close enough to the town centre with good transport links ensuring that young people are close enough to carry out activities young person may wish to be involved in. Bedfordshire has many other opportunities for young people to have positive social lives.
Each young person will have their own bedroom that is decorated to offer a homely feel, whilst they have communal facilities. The accommodation itself hosts a garden, for moments when fresh air or time out is needed. An office is placed on the ground floor where young people are welcomed.
Our standard provisions are as below:
- Single/double bed
- Wardrobe
- Keys to your room
- TV Point
- Electrical sockets
- Linen can be supplied
Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the property; there is a designated area in the garden area should young people need to. Staff will support young people by using the cycle of change to achieve smoking cessation.
All young people are listened to and fully respected and involved in decisions about the accommodation. HiOPP is based around building positive attitudes and meaningful relationships based on clear boundaries, openness, and trust.
Meetings
Consultation meetings happen regularly where views are captured, and any feedback is shared. Complaints are supported and any next steps advised.
Our way of work is designed and developed to facilitate young people to move towards independence with support. Our passion is to create a place of care and support centred around young people and their needs.
